Matt 5:13 (Don't worry, I didn't know what it said either!)

After a comfortable night, we had breakfast and daily text by the river

Since we started this trip I have been desperate to try a warm apple strudel. When we were in Germany the first time, we chose a restaurant because they advertised it outside, but when I ordered it was too late and the kitchen had closed! So at last, here in Bavaria my dreams came true. And it was delicious!

We were here in Bavaria to visit a salt mine. Boring, perhaps? It was EXCELLENT :-) So much that Isaac wanted to do the tour again immediately.

First, they dressed you in the miners overalls:

Then they took you on the original train that would transport the miners, the entrance to the train had this over the door :

The train took us deep into the mountain and into a chamber which had originally been full of salt water but which was drained for the salt. Then the lights went off and a laser show filled the cavern with water again before draining it away to leave salt crystals sparkling in the walls. It was so well done! The miners used to travel between levels on huge slides, so the next thing was to get onto the slide as a family, lean back and shoot down into the darkness. It was great fun. At the lowest level, there was a boat to take us across a water filled room with another light show. Then a funicular and another train to the start. We paid €40 for the whole family and it was fantastic, I would recommend it to anyone (next time they are in Bavaria that is)

Our plans after the salt mine had been to drive south and find somewhere in Austria to stay a couple of nights, however the weather was awful so we ploughed on and ended up in a little site in Italy, after unsuccessfully trying two other sites first.

Beautiful weather, the menu at the restaurant on the site was "spaghetti", that's it.

Sparklers last thing before bed.
