Good things come to those who wait

We were uncertain what to do with the rain pouring down, so we made the decision to move on. Despite the beautiful location we couldn't see anything as the clouds were so low.

We stopped in McDonald's in interlaken centre to borrow their wifi and decide our next move.

We are generally heading east at this point as we are aiming for Maianfeld, where Heidi is based. So we thought let's use the rain time to travel. This took us over some precarious mountain passes, my nerves not helped by the blasting explosions along the way! (not a euphemism) But we were rewarded with some incredible views

We stopped at a town called Glarus to try to figure out where to stay, pizza for tea under an incredible cloud covered mountain

Nearby was a lake, so as it was getting late, we decided to head towards the lake and go to the first campsite we found. Strange (possibly stoned) man in charge showed us where to park. The rain had stopped, the kids played on the edge of the lake and clare and I enjoyed a nice glass of wine as the sun went down. Heaven!

Evie collected some heart shaped stones for us

  1. Finally you are rewarded for your patience ! what beautiful pictures you have added today, it seems to be paradise...Life is unfair, in glasgow we have 20/22 degrees and sun, warm weather...we have met squirrels very approchable like the brothers and the sisters, but only the scottish ones, because the french group has disappeared...
